By way of introduction, I’ve worked as editor-in-chief of Film Comment, where I assigned the web and print publications, hosted the podcast, and moderated talks. Over the past two decades I’ve published features, interviews, and reviews in The New York Times, Sight & Sound, Artforum, and dearly departed publications such as The Village Voice, Stop Smiling, and The L Magazine. I have covered film festivals such as Cannes, Sundance, Venice, and True/False, spoken on panels and TV programs, and published essays for catalogues and DVD editions. Above all, I miss going to the movies, especially repertory theaters, and this is my way of staying in touch.
